Happy Bay Beach

Happy Bay is a secluded beach located on the island of Saint Martin in the Caribbean. It is located on the French side of the island, also known as Saint-Martin. The beach is known for its clear turquoise waters, white sand, and lush tropical vegetation. It’s a great spot for swimming, snorkelling, and sunbathing in the nude.

The bay is surrounded by cliffs, which provide natural shade and protection from the wind. Although you will have to bring your own beach umbrella and beach equipment as there are no chairs or umbrellas for rent.

Happy Bay is a relatively remote beach, which means that it is less crowded than some of the other beaches on the island. Nudity is tolerated on the whole beach however if the beach is less crowded naturists set up primarily at either end. Happy Bay is one of our favourite clothing optional beaches.

Happy Bay Beach can be accessed via a hike over the hill from Friars Bay Beach or via a boat ride. The beach is not equipped with facilities, such as showers or toilets. There is a small beach bar (Danny’s Beach Bar) which is not always open and has limited beverages so visitors should be prepared to bring their own snacks and drinks.

It’s a beautiful place to visit and enjoy the tropical paradise, also it’s a perfect spot for a romantic getaway, or a peaceful place to relax and unwind. However, visitors should be aware that the beach is not suitable for young children or for those with mobility issues due to the rugged nature of the terrain and lack of facilities.

There are two parking lots where you can park your car. The one parking main lot is at Friars Bay Beach and is the most easily accessible. The second parking lot is closer to the trail entrance for the beach. From either parking lot its just a short hike to Happy Bay.

After spending your day at Happy Bay, remember to stop at Kali’s Beach Bar for the Best Rum Punch on the Island. You can also order something to eat at Kali’s BBQ grill. Kali loves to “Feed the People”.

One of the unique features of Cupecoy Beach is its clothing-optional. For parking close to where naturists enter the beach, turn left at Dany’s Beach Bar and drive up to the roped off section. Get out of your car and take down the rope in order to drive to the section closest to the nudist sections. Be sure to put the rope back up once you pass through. Parking past the rope is self explanatory.

Another draw of Cupecoy Beach is its proximity to several other popular attractions on Saint Martin. The beach is located near the French-Dutch border, and is just a short drive from the lively nightlife and entertainment options in the nearby town of Maho. Visitors can also explore the nearby luxury resorts and casinos, or take a boat tour to explore the surrounding islands and experience the beauty of the Caribbean.
