A Day on Baie Longue Beach – Saint Martin
Our day began at Kazanu, a beautiful villa in the serene Oyster Pond area on Saint Martin’s French side. After breakfast, we set off on a scenic drive for a day on Baie Longue Beach. Heading north we drove past Orient Beach and the charming village of Grand Case. From there, we continued through Marigot, eventually passing the stunning Baie Rouge.
The drive took us along the winding Rue des Terres Basses, surrounded by lush landscapes. As we approached the Rue de la Falaise entrance to the Terres Basses region, we noticed the security gate. This gate marks the entrance to an exclusive area filled with luxurious estates and private villas. Turning right at the gate, we followed the road toward Baie Longue.
We navigated through quiet neighborhoods, enjoying the calm atmosphere. Soon, we arrived at the parking lot and set out on a short walk. A sandy trail led us directly to the breathtaking Baie Longue Beach.
Baie Longue – Naturist Freedom and Beauty
As its name suggests, Baie Longue is a long stretch of pristine white sand bordered by crystal-clear turquoise waters. We turned northwest and walked along the shoreline for about 20 minutes. With each step, the beach grew more secluded and tranquil. Eventually, we reached a naturist-friendly spot—a serene and liberating space to embrace nature fully.
Setting up our oasis on the sand, we brought only the essentials: a beach blanket, an umbrella, and our sense of freedom. For the next six hours, we enjoyed the peace and privacy of this expansive beach. During that time, only two or three other visitors crossed our path, making the beach feel like our private paradise.
Simple Pleasures by the Sea
Our time at Baie Longue was filled with simple joys. We cooled off in the gentle waves, sitting at the water’s edge to feel the ocean wash over us. Strolling along the beach, we searched for unique shells and admired the untouched scenery. A picnic lunch provided a relaxing break, and we entertained ourselves with a few games of cribbage. The calmness of the setting perfectly matched our leisurely activities.
Adding to the magic, we were treated to the sight of the annual Heineken Regatta. From our spot on the beach, we had a perfect view of the sailboats gliding across the horizon. Each boat competed for victory in the renowned Caribbean race, blending the thrill of competition with the peaceful isolation of Baie Longue.
The Perfect Ending
The combination of stunning natural beauty, freedom, and relaxation made our day unforgettable. Baie Longue offered us both tranquility and excitement, creating a perfect escape in paradise. Whether lounging in the sun or watching the regatta, every moment felt special. It’s a day we’ll treasure forever.
Our day on Baie Longue was certainly one to remember. It was a day of sun, sand, and sea, experienced in the most natural and unpretentious way. We left with glowing skin, a sense of peace, and memories of a paradise that was ours, if only for a day.
